Do NOT fall into this trap or buy into this message.

Hate is such a strong word and one I rarely use, but in this instance I can’t hold back. Every single year during the month of January, I cringe when I see the wellness industry (and everyone else too!) get on the bandwagon to send a very damaging message:

“New Year. New You.”

HELL NO!!! Do not, I repeat: Do NOT believe this for even one second.

You do not need to become a new you – not this year or any year. This is not only the wrong message, it is a hurtful message, as it implies you are not enough as you are and you need to become a new you in order to have a good year. It’s wrong on ALL levels. Do not buy into this hype.

There is nothing wrong with you, with who you are right now, and no reason you need to become a new you. Could you be a better version of yourself? Sure, as could everyone else in the world! Not everyone is striving to be their best selves, but I know you are.

You are worthy. You are enough. You are limitless. You can conquer your fears, set challenging goals and achieve your dreams. You absolutely can, and you can do it as you are right now. You don’t need to be a new you. Instead, aim to be your best you. You can start by improving your wellbeing — being healthier, happier, more fulfilled, and making your wellbeing a top priority.
