New you? Nope, I’m not falling for that and neither should you.
I’m over it and it must stop. I’m SO sick of seeing “New Year, New You”! New Year, New You has got to go. I’m calling out the wellness industry for this because I think it is wrong and sends the exact opposite message of what we (those in the wellness industry) want people to practice. Okay, so it’s a new year, and many people want to do things to better themselves…GREAT! I am all for that!
Here’s the deal though…you are not broken, you do not need to be fixed, and you don’t need to become a new you. You are absolutely great as you are. You want to be a better version of yourself? Cool. You can do that, but don’t think you need to become an entire new you, please!
That’s the #HealthTip of the week: Be You!
Can you imagine what would happen if you simply got comfortable with who you are right now? Stop hating and start loving. Now, I know this is easier said than done, I get it. There are parts of myself that I would like to undo, shift, change, etc., and become a better version of me, but I don’t need to become a new me. You don’t either.
Stop the madness of the “New Year, New You” campaign. Maybe it’s time to embrace who you are and in doing so you become the best version of yourself. Here’s to YOU!
